Fishing and glamping? A great idea

Fishing with a difference: glamping on the lake makes it possible

Did you know that? More than 6 million Germans enjoy fishing. The hobby is very popular and provides relaxation and a connection with nature. Fishing trips lasting several days in particular can also be a little less comfortable. Most people spend the night in smaller tents and the sanitary facilities leave a lot to be desired - to the extent that there are any at all ;-). More and more anglers are switching to glamping and combining luxury with camping flair.

Fishing and glamping: a touch of luxury

On fishing trips lasting several days, people tend to spend the night in a tent. Many fish bite in the early morning or evening and during the night. An overnight stay in a comfortable hotel, far away from the lake, is of course unthinkable or not very practical for all fishing fans.

At the same time, the night hours in the tent are not very comfortable. Although there are now numerous fishing accessories available, from mobile gas heaters to portable showers, compromises almost always have to be made. If you don't want to miss out on a warm bed, a hot shower and a fully equipped kitchen, glamping is a convenient alternative.

There is a certain level of luxury with glamping that simply doesn't exist with pure tent camping. You spend the night in tree houses, XXL tents or tiny houses. The big advantage over a conventional hotel: the accommodation is usually located directly on the water. When the big catch is on the hook, fishing fans can jump straight into the adventure.

Fishing on private waters: tips for your glamping stay

In order to be able to fish in Germany, you must be able to present a valid fishing license at any time. Many glamping accommodations are located on private property and therefore offer a decisive advantage: in private waters you can fish without a fishing license.

Beginners and professionals alike can dedicate themselves to their hobby on a regular basis without having to go through the bureaucratic hassle, including testing, in advance.

Most of the glamping facilities are located in the middle of nature and are maintained with a lot of love by the operator. The beautiful fishing spot is also only reserved for overnight guests.

Some glamping locations have now created special offers for fishing fans, where professional equipment is available for a small additional charge. Anglers have to invest a lot of money in equipment and accessories, especially at the beginning.

On a glamping adventure, however, the most important equipment may already be included. However, spontaneity is not always possible. Many of the luxurious accommodations in the middle of nature are fully booked weeks in advance. This is especially true during the peak summer season. It is therefore important to plan fishing trips relatively early.

The fishing trip for the whole family: glamping fun for young and old

Many children are fascinated by fishing. Nevertheless, spending time together on the water can be a greater or lesser challenge. In order for the fish to bite, it has to be as quiet as possible, because trampling and loud voices scare the shy underwater inhabitants.

Who does not know it? Children often find it difficult to persevere for hours, especially when there is nothing else to do. Glamping fun for young and old forms the ideal bridge here and is also perfect for families.

If there is a lull, the little ones can run around in the playground, switch on the TV or take a nap, and the adult hobby anglers can also get some well-deserved rest.

Another advantage: small children and partners who have little enthusiasm for fishing can also enjoy a glamping break to the fullest. This guarantees fun for the whole family =)

No fish on the hook? Off to wellness!

Whether a fishing trip is successful or not does not always depend solely on your own skills. Bad weather, the wrong spot or shy fish can cause calm and boredom.

When glamping, you can easily go hours or even days without a bite. Most accommodations offer wellness options such as a hot tub on the terrace or a sauna in the garden. Then even passionate anglers can ignore the fact that there are no big fish on the hook.

Whether with friends, family or your partner – the luxurious break in the middle of nature guarantees unforgettable moments or intimate togetherness. Even bad weather can't dampen your mood. When it's raining on the balcony or when it's cold in front of the fireplace, waiting for the next catch is much easier to bear.

Fishing holidays abroad: Glamping makes it possible

Fishing in the surrounding waters becomes less fun for experienced anglers in the long run. There is simply a lack of variety and new challenges. Many hobby anglers therefore look for adventure abroad.

From Belgium to Croatia, there are numerous waters that lure with big fish and new surroundings. To make the often long journey worthwhile, it shouldn't be an uncomfortable overnight stay in a mini tent - this is especially true when the whole family is going on a fishing holiday.

So it's no wonder that glamping is also booming in many neighboring and holiday countries. For fishing fans, this combines the best of both worlds. On the one hand, you can live out your hobby, and on the other hand, you can enjoy the advantages of luxurious accommodation in the middle of nature.
